Haven't really heard of oral cancer? We're not surprised. It is one of the least publicized cancers yet it will kill 24 people every day - 1 person every hour. The death rate for oral cancer is higher than than that of cancers you routinely hear about. The survival rate has not improved significantly in decades. This is not because it is hard to discover or diagnose, but because it is usually discovered in its later stages. Of the 34,000 newly diagnosed people this year, only half will be alive in 5 years,
We hope to change that...
Our mission is to create oral cancer awareness within the community. By raising awareness, we hope to decrease the incidence rate of this invasive disease, and lessen the pain and suffering inflicted on those diagnosed with oral cancer and their loved ones. When found early, oral cancers have an 80% to 90% survival rate. We encourage you to visit your dental professional every six months for a dental checkup and oral cancer screening.
